Nesting

I never did get that nesting instinct.  Apparently my body confused “nesting at 8 months pregnant” with “nesting at 8 months post-pregnant”.

The nursery has pretty much been used as a storage room since we moved in.  Maia doesn’t sleep in it, but there’s a lot taking up space there.  We’ve moved her crib into our bedroom and the nursery is still just a jumble of STUFF.

When I clean, I like to put everything in my sight and then work from there.  So here’s how the nursery looked this morning after I put everything in the middle of the room:

And here’s what it looks like now:

(Even when we put her hair up…. it falls down into her face.  Also, she loves that exercise ball WAY MORE than I ever did!)

clean2The great thing is that now we can let her crawl in there and play anytime she wants, since it’s totally baby proofed!

Looks good! We changed rooms with Maya like a year and a half ago but only just moved her wall hangings and pictures and stuff into her new room this weekend. Poor thing was sleeping in a room with all our stuff. We were in a nursery with an adult bed in it she was in an adult room with a crib in it :) At least it is done now.

I’m sure Maia is going to love exploring the new space :)

I love her toy friends all lined up on the futon. That gorilla must be twice Maia’s size!!

Looks great!!! My daughter has the same rug in her room. And I LOVE her hair!! She has so much of it – I’m kind of jealous. I would love to have that much hair!!

Maia has the best hair of any baby ever.

Looks great! I never got the nesting instinct. Just didn’t happen. I kind of wish it had, my house could use some cleaning/organizing.

Baby proofing? What is this, baby proofing? I’ll need to go google that. Our boys are not crawling forward yet, just backwards, and well, I think I am in denial as to their need to roam and explore. I guess that’s why when I set them in the pack and play so I can pour the coffee they’re all like, are you kidding lady?

Wow, you want to come do that at my house? That looks great!

My wife just did something similar with my office. Maybe she was tired of me sitting at the bar, on the couch, with my laptop, but one day I came home and my office was CLEAN! She proudly exclaimed that I could start working in there again.

    Hint…hint.
