Welcome to My Baby’s Mind Mondays! If you’d like to participate, the url for the button is “http://averygoodyear.net/images/babysmindmondays.png” and I ask that you link it to “http://averygoodyear.net/?cat=192“. Leave a comment letting me know you’ve posted, and I’ll add a list of participants to the end of each weekly post. You can post about your 2 day old, your 2 year old, your 22 year old, your dog, the stray cat in your neighbourhood… whatever, if you call someone your baby, I want to know what you see when you peek into that mind!
Here’s the picture that inspired me this week:

Dear Mom,
Shouldn’t you be cooking instead of taking pictures of me?
I know, you’re super impressed that my hands are clasped together. THAT’S CRAZY! HOW AM I DOING THAT? Next thing you know, cats will be sleeping with dogs!
Really though, I copied it from you. Remember the other day when we were sitting on the couch together and you kept bringing your hands together, trying to show me how to do this? I caught on, I just didn’t want to let you know then. Gotta keep you on your toes. It’s cute though, huh?
I have to admit, I love spending time in the kitchen with you. I love watching you walk back and forth, I love that you show me every ingredient and tell me what it is, and I love that you talk to me about what you are doing. Someday we will be able to cook together! You’ll have to show me how to make cookies, since they are Daddy’s favourite.
Love,
Maia.
I can’t wait till Lily cooks with me. I think cookies are definitely on the list.
I love that picture of Maia, she’s too cute (always).
I’ll try to get a post up later, I’ll let you know.
What a cute picture! Just wait until she starts mimicking your gestures and words, it’s a trip.
I love this. Love the photo. Love her eyes, her cheeks, the fat-roll wrinkles in her ankles, and the little wet spots on her onesie probably the result of her blowing raspberries?
I also love that you talk to her about everything you are doing. I do that with my boys, especially in the grocery store and I think people think I’m loony. I am loony, but, well, I don’t like other people passing judgement so quickly!
@Jinxy: If Maia makes cookies anything like me, well… they’re not gonna be pretty or edible
@Cara: I’m kind of dreading that, since I’ll REALLY have to watch what I say!
@Colleen: Yes, those are raspberry drool spots, hehe! Whenever I go for a walk with Maia, I talk to her the whole time… who cares if people think I’m crazy, there’s only one person who matters, and when she’s looking up at me and smiling when I tell her about the “pretty tree” or the “bouncy squirrel”, it’s sooo worth any funny looks adults give me
She is just precious – and only a few days old than my sweetie so they are doing a lot of the same stuff!
My girl loves to hold her hands together, it’s been something she’s done forever, it’s one of my fav things. It’s sweet, but it also reminds me of Mr. Burns (excellent) lol
Love these posts
Actually that look on Maia’s face makes me think of the future….”What?…I didn’t put that dent in the bumper!!…” “Me??? I didn’t feed that cookie to Joss!”
I’m not kidding, I think that kid gets cuter by the minute. She has the most intense eyes! And I am in love with all of that dark hair. Yummmmy baby! We got two of those bumbo seats for our kids and I love the way they sit up in them and look like such big boys. Makes me cry too. Why are new moms so weepy? Hormones? Gah!
Oh, forgot to tell you. Maia emailed me last week and said she wanted to bake cookies for me, too.
